"Love the Lord" Deuteronomy 30:19 - 20 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice aand holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” In conversations with some of the members of Faith, I am hearing a similar theme arise. That theme is, in my words, "The Church that Loves." The slogan tells me that we are people who show and share the Love of God through Jesus Christ. So, in everything that we do, everything that we say and everything that we think, we do it all in and with the love of God through Jesus. We do it because God first loves us. After all, "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16). God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to save us from our sins. To save us when we don't love and we act selfishly. God loves us so much that He gave Jesus to save us from death, hell, and the influence of Satan. God loves us so much that He gave to us the Holy Spirit who guides and directs us in love. With that said, we are the "Church that loves." Let's pray. God, send Your Spirit to change our hearts of stone and selfishness to hearts of flesh that love with Your grace and mercy. We pray this in Jesus' name. And all God's children say...
