I pray everyone had a truly wonderful and blessing-filled Thanksgiving. As we now turn our sights toward the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Christmas, we enter the Advent season. Many people think of the post-Thanksgiving time as Christmas time. Truly, the church views Christmas time beginning on Christmas Eve and lasting through those famous twelve days of Christmas, ending on January 6, which we call Epiphany. The Advent season, based on the Latin word adventus, which means “coming” or “visit”, is a season of preparation for Christmas.
Faith Lutheran School
Ratio Christi (Latin for ‘The Reason of Christ’) is a non-profit, tax exempt (501c3) organization encouraging and strengthening the faith of Christian students at universities around the world through the use of intellectual investigation and apologetics while sharing Christ's message and love to those that have yet to receive it.
We believe that Christians have failed to address the pressing questions of worldview, science, philosophy, history, and the other academic disciplines. Consequently, the Secular Humanist worldview has overtaken the university and the minds of students. Ratio Christi, a Student Apologetics Alliance, places Christian apologetics clubs at secular, liberal, religious, public, and private universities around the world in order to take part in the battle for the mind, and begin to reverse the Humanist trend of thought by providing and equipping students with the answers, or means of getting the answers, to the pressing questions of life that shape our worldview.
If you are an SHSU student, you may join our group using OrgLINK. Because there are so many evening conflicts, we have Lunch Meetings in the LSC Fridays at Noon. Bring your own lunch. Each meeting will be framed around a particular issue. Sometimes we will have outside speakers with Q&A afterward. If your particular question is not addressed, you will have an opportunity to give questions or topics to chapter leadership for preparation at a future meeting. You can also submit topics to ourfacebook page. Tired of email? Use your browser to join our SMS List or text @16rc to 81010
