The End of the Year is Coming:

And no, I am not referring to December 31st. I am referring to the Last Sunday of the Church Year on November 23rd.
Those of us, me included, who thinks according to a different calendar, think that this time period is necessary for us. And why is that? The last three weeks of the Church Year are focused on the “End of Time.” That is the time that God has planned for Jesus’ return.
Why is this important to us? Simply put, so that we “don’t get cocky.” Think about this: God has “delayed” sending the Son back to earth for almost 2000 years. People have gotten cocky, or a better word to use is complacent, about the return of Jesus. The running comment sounds like, “Well it’s been a long time already, it’s going to be a long time still. I won’t worry about it then.”
“Don’t get complacent.” Jesus, when asked when He was going to return was going to happen dropped a few clues. But the best clue Jesus dropped was recorded in Matthew 24:14.
“And when the Kingdom of Heaven in proclaimed in the entire world, as a testimony to all nations, then the end will come.” (Translation mine)
Do you realize that through the work that God wants us to do, we will be bringing the end of time closer? And that is a good thing.
God desires all people to believe and come to a knowledge of the truth. This is our task and calling. So, if we “do nothing,” God will wait until the proclamation of the Kingdom happens. That’s complacent.
So, this is my point. We have a job to do. We are proclaimers and doers. We are servants of the Almighty God and brothers and sisters of our Savior Jesus Christ. We live knowing that we are working for Jesus’ return. And that is a good thing. We work so that people get the opportunity to hear the message of salvation given by Jesus and believe and be saved. And that is a good thing. We serve with passion and joy because we know and believe that we are saved by the blood of Jesus. And when we tell others, we hasten Jesus’ return. And that is a good thing.
Now, we need to get busy. Now, we need to get organized. We need a plan. We need to do the plan.
I am ready, willing, and able to work with you. Let’s do it.
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Robert
