HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!
This is the greeting of greetings. It is universal amongst Christians, even though they don’t use it. Let’s think about what is being said.
Alleluia! The word means, “Praise Yahweh” from the Hebrew word “Hallelujah.” Hallelujah is a combination word, which means, it is two words combined into one. The first word is, “Halal” which means, “to praise.” “Jah,” or “Yah,” is the short form, or nickname, for “Yahweh.” So, in this greeting, one person is saying to a second person, “Praise Yahweh, Christ is risen!” And the one responds says, “HE IS RISEN INDEED! Praise Yahweh!’ We use this greeting throughout the season of Easter. Usually I start with the first phrase, and you respond with the second. And this greeting can be shared member to member, school parent to school parent, teacher to student, and Christian to Christian.
Every Christian knows that Jesus is risen from the dead. There is no doubt. It is an historical fact. It is proven by Jesus himself when he re-introduced himself to Mary Magdeline, the remaining 11, the two friends on the road to Emmaus, Peter individually, and even Paul when he was on the road to Damascus.
And the resurrection of Jesus is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for all people. Without it, there is no eternal life. We do not have a new life to live in now and forever. Without the resurrection we are still lost in our sins and sinfulness. Without the resurrection, we are destined to judgement and hell.
But fear not, Christ has been raised from the dead.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than 500 of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James and all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. (1st Corinthians 15:3-8).
There is no way I will ever doubt the historical truth of Jesus’ resurrection. Praise Yahweh. Christ is risen. HE IS RISEN INDEED! PRAISE YAHWEH! See you for the rest of our Holy Week services.
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Robert
