Rev. James Jennings
Pastor James joined Faith Lutheran Church in June of 2015. He was previously the Vicar and Director of Music for the Missouri City Campus of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland, Texas for 5 years.
James has been singing with the Houston Grand Opera chorus for 20 years and has taught vocal master classes and clinics from Canada to Texas, concentrating on proper sound production and vocal blending techniques. With a background in musical theater, James has performed up and down the east coast and has many leading roles on his resume.
James has always felt a calling to church music, having a church job since high school, and assistant director positions throughout college. He feels it is important to create the atmosphere that is needed for people to meet God at worship and then connect them to God and His lifesaving Word. Music plays a large part in this task.
James believes that it is his calling to help God’s people develop the spiritual gifts God has given them and continue to lead them in their walk with the Lord, spiritually, as well as musically.
James Jennings says he has been blessed to be married to his wife Krista for 16 years this November. They have two sons, Aaron James Jennings who is 9 and Noah Robert Jennings who turns 7 this summer! They are beautiful boys and have a deep love for Jesus!
He added, he and his family feel truly blessed to be part of the family here at Faith Lutheran Church and School and is very excited about the possibilities to show God’s incredible love here in the future!
